Tina Fey Introduces Gilda Radner Documentary at Tribeca Film Festival Last night in New York City at the kickoff event for the 17th annual Tribeca Film Festival, an audience screened the first documentary from filmmaker Lisa D’Apolito,  Love, Gilda , at the Beacon Theatre. The movie chronicled the career of beloved comedian Gilda Radner, focusing mainly on her years at  Saturday Night Live . Denzel Washington Wraps the First Sequel of His Career, ‘The Equalizer 2’

Shooting has wrapped on Columbia Pictures’ upcoming action sequel,  The Equalizer 2 , starring Denzel Washington. The original film (which was based on a series from the 1980s) found former CIA black ops specialist Robert McCall (Washington) living a life of forced retirement after making a promise to his late wife. That promise is put to the test when McCall befriends a young woman named Alina (Chloë Grace Moretz) who is being forced into prostitution by the Russian mob. When the young woman is hospitalized after a vicious beating, Washington unleashes a reign of terror that would John Wick tremble in his boots. The original movie,  The Equalizer , was a solid if uninspired, action flick that saw Washington doing his grim-faced sentinel act while Antoine Fuqua filmed him with a slick style that almost helped bury the fact that the movie had very little substance. BAKOUNINE  /  SHUTTERSTOCK.COM Hot on the heels of his successful sci-fi pic  Ready Player One , news has broken that Steven Spielberg is in talks to produce and possibly direct an adaptation of DC Comics’  Blackhawk . The development could prove a game changer for the DCEU, especially if they can coerce Spielberg into helming the feature. Blackhawk  follows a team of World War II fighter pilots known as the Blackhawk Squadron who use Nazi aircraft to run stealth campaigns behind enemy lines. While the comic was initially published in 1941, the  team has undergone several changes  to make the lineup less xenophobic (one of the original members was an Asian fella called Chop-Chop).
